You will not find an FG on a quarter because it was designed by John Flanagan, not Frank Gasparro.

to the Forum, India. You can learn a lot about coins here. "Spears" are just names that some owners of coins label some imperfections. In this case, it appears the die that struck your coin had more than one crack on it. The die that plants the impression on your coin is considerably harder than the metal in your coin. By comparison, this makes your coin mallable at the time of the strike. The metal on your coin rushed into the crack on the die producing the slightly raised lines on the coin. This makes it a genuine error coin Numismatists refer to as a Die Crack. A lot of people collect this type of error coin, but as it is pretty common there is very little extra monetary value associated with it.
The bird on the coin is the American Bald Eagle, one of the few important symbols our great country enjoys.
P.S. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but I think the lines are raised. If they are incuse (sunken), it is only damage. You can learn to take better pictures here too. You may wish to visit the photography forum. Good pictures lead to more accurate evaluations of your coins. Enjoy.
