I am new on here and coin collecting in general. I inherited a nice size coin collection from a relative. The coin in question is one I have had since 1976. From what I see, there is a reverse stamping of the Monticello on the front of this coin and a reverse stamping of a Wheat penny on the back of the coin. How could this be? It also looks as if it was repunched. The coin seems warped (does not lie flat). I apologize in advance if my terms are not proper.

Garage job. Your coin was sandwiched between two other coins and squeezed in a vice. The mirror reverse letters are the clue.

But the warping you described may indicate a cruder method, such as a hammer.

Thank you. I have a box of labeled error coins that I am slowly going through, as well as the rest of the collection. I have others that I have questions on, but I will post that another day. Thanks again!
