Appears to be a Spanish real, probably from one of the Mexican mints. Not my area of expertise, but it might be a lead.

With the short cross and quatrefoils it puts me in mind of an English Medieval penny of, perhaps, the 12th or 13th century.

The key will be, the fleur-de-lys in the upper left angle of the cross (and the lower right, with an extra pellet at the base?)

It looks similar as Charles VI from France. http://sonesgarden.se/Silvergalleri...id-2493.html Not the same pellets. But it is Crowns upper right and lower left. I Think it's French, but could some other ruler then Charles VI. Any other idea?
