Hello,
I recently found this coin in my register while cashiering and I'd like to know if any of you know what this is, I think it may be fake because I can't find anything about a shiny 1949 quarter anywhere when I was researching it:

Shiny1949-US-Quarter
(The coin I found is in the middle. Notice how much shinier it is than the two next to it)
Shiny1949-US-Quarter
(The reverse side of the coin, shininess doesn't show much in this but I figured I should show the reverse as well in case it will help)

Note how shiny it is, despite these images not doing it much justice. I've done some research on the coin before posting and only found that this coin should be 90% silver, but all the websites I looked at didn't describe it as this shiny.

More information: I tried a 'ping' test and found that it rang a bit lower pitched than a George Washington Dollar Coin, but rang for much longer.

Its a silver quarter thats been cleaned really badly. It could be plated but it's more than likely just cleaned. Silver none the less nice find.

Ooo. That's not something I had thought of. That makes sense. I find strange things all the time while cashiering maybe I'll post more things in the future. Thanks for replying!
