Hello All,

I have this follis which I can't place. I do not see much copper coins with woman emperors on it. This one looks scarce to me?

I see an ( Z ) in the middle of the reverse is that the mintmark in this case?

Salonina - she wasnt emperor, but the wife of an emperor. The emperors issued coinage of their family (usually exclusively their wife) occaisonally. They were always issued in smaller quantities than the emperor's issues, but are often very easy to find - Salonina turns up quite a lot.

It's also an antoninianus rather than a follis

Thankfully they didn't put a 20lb crown on the females !
The crescent behind the bust indicates the denomination.
