Where is this image from? An auction?

My immediate thought was that the bust looks odd - fat neck and 3 tassels behind the head. I stay away from gold though - I havent learnt enough about them to be able to pick out the fakes among them, which also means I stay away from suggesting any are real or fake.

Yes it's an online auction. Anyone else thinking it's off?

That first one, Pish, is this actual coin, I believe.

It does seem to me that compared to some similar coins I see online (below), this coin has a bit wider, more crudely rendered profile, an odd little projecting tip of the nose, and little if any hair behind the ear and below the diadem (as the others have).

But not knowing anything about these issues, I can't offer an opinion about whether these differences amount to much. Did solidi of Constantine vary greatly from mint to mint, and/or from celator to celator? Are the differences we see here within the norm for these issues?

Someone thought it was OK and spent 4000 euros on it. It looks fine to me just worn.

I saw that, I was looking at it but I was suspicious. It seemed off.

I agree with Echizento worn but style wise it seems more genuine than not

Beware fakes with these! It's a known famous coin type.
I can't pick it if it is a fake from these pictures; I will bet that it is made from good gold anyway.

I would just love to take this coin to a bullion dealer and have him test it with his hand held XRF testing instrument, for trace metals other than gold copper and silver.

ANY bullion dealer worth his salt should have an XRF test instrument.
