Quote: Thanks for that answer jbuck. I don't think I could do that! The good news is that you do not have to. Always do it your way.

I finished my Mercury dime set last week!! Of course, I was able to 'cheat' because my Littleton folder does NOT have a hole for the 1916-D. If I do find one some day relatively cheap then I will gouge out the cardboard and plug in the 'king' coin. I recently began a Washington Proof set, and I'm down to just needing the 1936. I also only need two Indian nickels (1913-S T2 and the 3-legged) and two Lincolns (1909-S VDB and 1914-D). Otherwise, my USA sets are done, and I am starting to buy some of the pricey Canadian coins to fill those sets also.

Just an update here for me as well... Finished my State Quarter silver proof album and now up to date with the ATB silver proof quarter album as well. My mother and I are down to 16 wheat cents (which will cost around $1000 just to get lower grades of them) and I am 26 coins away from completing my 7070 album (around $2800 left for that... will take a while). Also possibly may be coming into a type album from Japan and Australia as well so they would be my next goals... we will see soon!

Need s-VDB and 14-D to complete lincoln wheats. Working on Washington silver quarters in BU - have 1948 to 1964 complete, mostly mintmarked early ones left to go.

Recently finished my circulated 1909-1958 cent (only took my whole life).
Now I am working on:
Dansco 7070 Status: 10%
Type Set, but all PCGS Status: 0%
Uncirculated 1909-1958 cent Status: 50% (the cheap 50% lol)
Classic Silver Commmerative Status: Not started-- trying to decide if I want to do PCGS, or if I want to do raw, if I do raw, whether I want AU or UNC or Circ. I haven't researched whether there are Albums for this or if I have to create my own. But they are among my favorite coin designs.

working on: Lincoln cents to date (perpetual) Mercury dimes in MS (date set only) Jefferson nickel to date (from circulation) P&D State Quarters uncirculated set (have several sets from circulation not in books, just started one in an actual album) Silver proof state and ATB Quarters (I originally started this with the intention of buying only open coins from dealer junk bins but am beginning to rethink that) upgrading type set from 1900 to date 20th century type set of first and last year issues. (First year for coins that started in the 1900s and last year for coins that ended in the 1900S)

So Steele what do you do if a series both starts and ends in the 20th century like SLQs or Frankie halves? Buy both? Just curious ... Best Regards, George

If the series started in the 1900s the first year only, but now I may have to do both, its going to be a while before I can get the 1916 SLQ anyway.

I know that this is an old thread, but I read it today and it helped me a lot, so I think some others might benefit as well. I've been building a set of Washington quarters while trying to figure out how I want to house them. They are now in a Whitman Classic 1932-1990 album and I really like how they look. Plus choosing how to house the set then gives some direction. I think it helps boost my collecting enjoyment.

Last week I received a 1941D LWC I bought from ebay. It completed my Whitman folder #2 (1941-1974). :) Some of the coins are considered BU, such as this 1963P: Now I want to continue on Whitman folder #1. It's only 60% complete at this time...
