If I know I'm going to store any album, folder or rolled change for a while, I use my food saver. It's great for moisture/dust protection. It also saves a lot of space when storing rolled coins.

Zip Lock also makes a two gallon size. Most Danscos will not fit in the one gallon size, at least not with the slipcover included.

So a two gallon zip lock would work with a whitman album? Also Would I have to put those little packets in the bag to keep the moisture out?

It would. although you might be able to get the Whitmans in a one gallon bag. They are just a little bit smaller than the Danscos which almost fit into the one gallon ones but not quite.

What I do is put the album in the smallest bag that it will fit into, put a desiccant pack in the bag and then press all the air out of it. Then I put it in the safe and have two desiccant packs in the safe. I use the packs with indicators on them so I can tell when they need to be recharged.

The packs in the bags last pretty long but the ones in the safe need to be recharged more often. As others have said, the safe is not completely air tight so you are fighting a losing battle, but I try anyway!

After about 5 recharges, I throw out the packs and buy new.

I use the one gallon size for all my Whitman Albums. For ones with really great coins I use a double Zip Lock bag. By that I mean I put the Album in a Zip Lock bag, fold over the excess and then put that end in a second Zip Lock bag. I use the one gallon sizes for all my Whitman Albums. Even the Lincoln Cent ones with 10 pages.
I never use those moisture Moisture packets since very little moisture can get in and I open them so often, would not be worth the trouble. So far in many, many years, never had a thing go wrong.
