Question: 1794 cents have 3 head types (excluding Jefferson Head). Do any 1794 large cents with Head of "94 or Head of '95 have a lettered edge w/single leaf? In other words, can I identify a corroded, worn 1794 Head of '93 coin by its edge alone?

Thanks!

There are quite a few early copper pros here at CCF (I'm not one unfortunately) that will be able to answer your question. It might time.

I didn't want you to think that this was being ignored.

They all do.

I do not believe you can. Both varieties, leaf down (a) and leaf up (b) were used.

edited for clarification.

I believe all of the 1794 cents have a single leaf on the edge. (I'm going from memory here)

And the Jefferson head is a 1795 not 1794.

Easiest way to spot a 94, head of 93 (if it is visible) is to look at the junction of hair and forehead compared to the TY of LIBERTY. If it is centered between the T and Y it's a head of 93. (LIBERTY will also be well away from the bust. That is seen on the heads of 93 and the heads of 94 through S-44. The heads of 94 after S-44 and the heads of 95 have LIBERTY down close to the bust) None of the heads of 94 or 95 have it further right than slightly right of the right foot of the T.
