I informed the poster that it is likely a fantasy or replica piece, he replied saying thanks and that he had no idea but didn't change any of listing to show that he now might know what it is.

Is this against any rules or is it borderline?
Rest in Peace

He does list it as a "Mystery" coin and does place a pair of question marks after Gold, so it's possible he simply doesn't know what it is and hopes someone will need it.

I don't think this poor little brass bit will fool anyone. It was probably made for jewelry rather than to deceive collectors.

You've done your job of informing him as such, and I've done the same thing. Perhaps he will pull it or make note of the questionable issues, but with the way he's listing it, I don't think it necessarily goes against any ebay rules.

And the statement... "about the size of a Half Dime" so he knows more about coins than he is letting on. Most non coin people would not know how big a Half Dime is.

I'd guess it's play money or a jeton. Here's one similar in size for $40.

There's probably a group of collectors for this, whatever it is.

How can he "guarantee" that it is "original" and "authentic" (as he states) if it is a mystery coin that he doesn't know what it is? This is sad.

I cant pinpoint where I remember this from or what it is, but if my memory serves me right, This is a valuable piece! perhaps civil war token? I just know I have seen that before with a hefty tag on it.

As Far as the 2nd coin, the SPIEL MARKE, I have seen that as well. not very valuable. perhaps $20
