And the questionn is...

Are the prices for transportation tokens on E-bay truly reflective of the market?

example:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Old-New-Jers...t_3593wt_900

I bought on of these in comparable condition last week for 15 cents. Did I get the deal of the week, or is this over the moon?

Personally I'd say because it's exonumia it's more up to the collector, there isn't a common collector base and as such people pay simply because they want it with no subtle feeling of value.

Well on the bay items are generally sold by the uninformed, illinformed, misinformed and the its old so it must be worth a bundle crowd! Yes there are some tokens transport and otherwise that are rare and worth something. ebay is not a good place to find out what something is worth, only one place to find out what people are asking. Most times not even close to acutal value, with general modern era tokens from 1900 to present.
Most tokens end up in the bargian bins at the LCS.spunds like you did good as most from 30's--60's sell for .75 -$1.00 around here.

Keep in mind it doesn't matter what price its listed for if it isn't selling at that price.
