Hey guys it's been awhile but I wanted to post up a couple of Spanish silvers that I've dug recently. They are ugly but I know Pistareen loves the Spanish.

Hi Ahab8 - Thanks for posting these "picayunes." Both feature King Charles III of Spain. They appear to have circulated long and hard and then sat in the plow zone for a century and a half to end up out of round. I would place them in the ground at the beginning of the Civil War. These might be thought of as early Federal "bits" (6 and 1/4 cent pieces) that circulated till small change disappeared during the war. These probably saw circulation during fifteen Presidents of the U. S. and the first Confederate President. The first coin is from Lima, Peru, 1786.
