Moderator Ben Costello, with John Pullin & Frank Sedwick, Being and collector and being a dealer gives two different perspective about the market. Hear from people at the 300th Anniversary Conference on the wreck of the 1715 Treasure Fleet.
Very interesting talk. I think I was at the auction they mentioned in late 2014 where a 1715 cob, possibly with a perfect 4 digit date brought $20K. One has to thank the Sedwicks & John Pullen for all the research they've done into cobs and the history thereof.
I've followed the past 8 or 10 Sedwick auctions looking for a really nice silver 8R cob (1715 or otherwise) for my own collection but unfortunately haven't been able to find a single specimen; at least at my price range.
