Hi guys and gals!
Great forum and I'm really glad I found it!

Just trying to gather your thoughts about this rim ding. Is this type of error common? Any value to this?

Sorry for being ignorant but I am totally new at collecting coins and I am gaining more interest with error coins.

Again this is a pic from my 2007W PROOF SAE. There is also a tiny crack from the same ding on the face of the rim. It wouldn't show up on my picture.

Thanks for all of your help!

I think it's just damage and not an error.

It is damage and not an error. It diminishes the value of the coin.

Thank you two for your insight.

A little OT I guess, but may I ask what may cause damage like this? This coin came sealed from the mint. Wondering if I should return it to the dealer as I didn't notice it until I got home.

Thanks again Sleak and found!
