Jason,

The pictures are getting better (bigger), but it's still difficult to determine an accurate grade. This Morgan is a bit easier than the 1976 dollar and quarter ... those designs are so flat anyway, it's difficult to grade unless the photo looks exactly like the coin in hand.

Back to the Morgan ... I would give this an XF-45 due to the amount of wear on the high points. Look at the hair on the obverse and the eagle's breast on the reverse to see the wear. Here is are pics of the obverse and reverse of an 1881-P graded MS63 by PCGS for comparison.

Thank you again for the comments. I have been practicing with the pictures to get them better. The '76 dollar and quarter are out of a Silver mint set and have great eye appeal but I can't get them to show up great in the pics. I love the picture of the Morgan dollar you show. Also I am using a scanner becuase I can't get a good picture with my digital camera(that is probably the problem).

What kind of camera do you have? My guess is even if it's 3 or 4 years old it will still take pretty good pictures. We have a photography forum here you may find beneficial.
