Does not seem cost effective to me, however, do as thou wilt....

Nice example, tentative VF., Really bad pics for grading....

can only see the obverse and even that pic is not good. F-15 to vf 20 would be my grade on this one. Not a good coin to submit IMHO.

imo don't submit.

Is that a 51 over 81? I see a little mark on the lower right side of the 1 upright.

I don't think it is the 1851/81, the diagnostics of the date position are not correct for the variety, most significantly the bust is too far left of the first 1 in the date for it to be N-3 (51/81). Might be N-20 or N-22, but the photo isn't helping.

I'll go VF25, but how about better pics including reverse?

pics are blurry and washed out. It is difficult to grade as is. I don't think its worth sending in for grading. at best you've got a $25 coin there and unless its the lighting, it looks cleaned so you've really got a waste of your time and money to send it for grading.

I do not mean to come across so harsh in my opinion on this (electronic communication can do that!). The lesson all would try to impart on you is to save the money on grading and locate a more desirable raw coin to send in or learn the art of Numismatic Patience and wait for an already graded VF25 to appear on the bay or heritage or any number of online resources and spend your money on that coin instead.

Either way, best of luck in your ventures and thanks for sharing this one. Its a nice looking large cent.

I've never actually handled a 1851/81 in hand, so what do I know, haha.
