I am no expert on 1921 Peace dollars because of the high relief aspect. A young collector wants to trade his for some of my Barber dimes. When looking at it I see a lot if hairlines around it. Coin looks like high au/UNC. Wotth trading for and sending into NGC or should I stay away.

If it has a lot of hairlines, as you note, then take a pass. You'll never look at it without thinking about the cleaning.

With the heavy hairlines on the reverse, I'm pretty certain this would come back details.

From photos on reverse coin looks cleaned. Coin at best could grade MS details, but looks more like AU details cleaned. If the coin grades AU details, the value is going to be in the $130 range. I would pass as there are currently over 35 graded AU details 1921 Peace dollars for sale on ebay.

I think that this coin was cleaned with metal polish a long time ago.

When the neck and cheek reflect the exact same look in the washed-out parts as the fields, it's a coin. Whoever polished it did so with admirable diligence.

Major problem coin, unfortunately. Polished and possibly whizzed. Not much market for those - I'd rather have a problem free VF example.

AU details, harsh cleaning.

Not a shiny polishing, but definitely cleaned.
