Less than two Benjamins brought this one home.

Complete minus the 1916-D, and I did see on inspection that one of the 20s D mints is wrong, so I'll replace that.

Seller photos (and seller) didn't bother to mention the album toning...

Tried to take a few pictures of both the coins and the toning. It's really neat, and looks fairly original. I was expecting junk but most of these have full or nearly full obverse and reverse, including the 1921 dated coin.

Popped out the 1921 and 1921-D, and a few others such as the 1926-S, for mintmark verification.

What do you think? Good buy or not so nice price?

How would you grade the 1921 and 1921-D?

I did look at the 1926-S, also, it's a decent G-VG in my opinion.

'21 G04, assuming no details. (edit: I might be a little low on this one, maybe as high as VG08)

Looks like a nice pickup to me. I would agree with AG-3 for the 21D.

I figure if I could get $100 total for the 4 or 5 key dates then I'd have bought the other 72 coins for just over $1 per coin, or 10x face, about what I used to pay for junk silver. Paid $175 free ship. Some of the coins have a nice album golden/rainbow tone. The 40s coins are in the F to VF range, 30s VG-F, and the 20s and back range from AG to VG with a F here or there. I am sure at least a couple have been wiped but most of them look original, although circulated.

The '21 is possibly details, looks a bit rough on the reverse, the 21-d is a nice original AG (IMO) coin with clearly visible MM.

One day I'll have a 1916-D, but even AG examples are very pricey and I have a hard time with spending over half a grand on an AG coin that's not pre-1900s.

I would say G-04 and AG-03, respectively.

I'm collecting Mercury dimes too. Is $12 for 11 Mercury dimes and a old whitman a good deal?

$12 for 11 dimes is just ahead of $1 per dime so unless they're terribly ugly, it's not a bad price.

Also, I'm not sure how I could obtain better pictures at the moment, those are shot at 24MP through a DSLR, 55mm AF lens using bidirectional warm white and cool blue LED illumination. I haven't finished building my copy stand yet for a hard mount.
