I just happened to spot these "garage sale junk box" Morgans, as touted by the seller. In the description, he cautions: "This item I found in a box of junk that I bought at a garage sale so I cannot make any claim as to condition, value or authenticity."

To my eye, these similar-looking "Morgans" are Chinese counterfeits. If other CCF members concur, I'll report them. My suspicion is further fueled by the seller's "no returns" policy.

I'm calling fake on all three. I don't like the dates on the first two and details too mushy and rough for my taste. On the last one there looks to be small clumps of "stuff" that may be from casting?

And you are correct, his "no returns" policy and the fact that he makes no claim to authenticity are immediate turn-offs.

Most certainly bad - all three.

Please keep in mind that it makes absolutely NO DIFFERENCE if a seller lists no returns. Regardless of "their" policy, even if stated in their "rules", you can still report an item that you receive as "not as described" and either ebay will put a "lean" on the sellers Pay Pal account until the item is returned, or if they "poof" disappear ebay will still insure you receive a refund.

If a seller lists no returns either they are unaware of this or hope the buyers are unaware of this.

Exact same raised lumps around the N of UNITED and between wreath and wing. So this would have to be the same rev die used for 17 years.

Moe .... This one looks good, and I'll venture bids that exceed $100.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts, folks. Given this seller's description and no return policy, I'll not bother to write and confront him. I doubt it would be worth the time and hassle. I'll simply report all of them.

Great, Bobby131313 ... I was hoping you'd chime in; this, though I'd already reported them.

The 1887-s is good, but I agree that it is not high grade. It is a typical example for this date/mm that looks like it's spent a little time inside a meat grinder. That's why there is such a JUMP in price from $50 in AU to $2500 for a gem.
