Has a nice message and all, but they deceptively shy away from blantantly saying that the coin is a replica plated in 24Kt gold, as well as the ring.

"...recreates the ancient design of the rare and ancient Justinian II Gold Solidus. 24K-gold plating..."

I really don't see the big deal. Bradford is akin to the Franklin Mint, where pieces rarely recoup their issue price.

They should at least say it's a replica.

Jewelry has always been a 'racket'. Many a poor chump has been suckered into paying a half a years salary on pretty baubles.
How many times have you heard someone say
"It's worth five thousand dollars"

Sorry just because you got swindled out of that much doesn't mean much.

I do my all my shopping in pawn shops and coin shops where occasionally I find hand made gold and silver 'thangs' (almost like new) for around 20-25% over melt.

But I am a cheapskate !

I think the word ".......recreates..." lets them off the hook.
Rest in Peace

Oh come on guys (and gals). Do you really think anyone who ever ever ever buys ANYTHING from the Bradford Exchange isn't already falling quickly into the black hole of idiocy?

Their Motto: We EXCHANGE shiny junk for your CASH MONEY!

If I were paranoid I'd believe the Chinese have owned this company for years...

Please don't tell me your grandma collects things from them. I don't want to know.

"Handcrafted ring's centerpiece recreates the ancient design"

"Faithfully recapturing the historic coin design with precious 24K gold plating"

"24K gold-plated recreation"

They say it in the title and in the description twice. Does a buyer have to be hit over the head with a shovel. I don't see anything shady about this offering.

I think that we must assume that jewellery is here to stay...
We can´t do anything to avoid all these "copies" of ancient coins made to give to every body the opportunity to have a "true replica" (?) of an ancient and very expensive coin...
I´m much more worried about all these people who are making faked coins NOW to deceive me than about all these people who are making "copies" to get the hardly earned money of other persons who are stupids enought to buy something like "ancient coins" without taking advice of a real dealer...
I know that I´m thinking in myself only, but I´m afraid but I cannot change the entire world!
