I was shocked by the beauty of this dime. In the coin store it had this opal fog around the design. Unfortunately I couldn't find any other denomination which looked this way. Is there a chance I could get a whole set (not necessarily the same year.)? It would be great to get an Eisenhower looking like this.

Strangely enough, when I got the coin home and took a picture of it the fog was gone. Now it gives off a fantastic deep blue. (The inconsistency of the color is because it's still in the 2x2. Which it will stay until I find just the right book to put it in.)

Nice coin, but, I doubt that you'll find an Ike like that!

A number of the GSA proof Ikes have a sometimes nice bluish tone- those are the ones that were sold separately from the proof sets in the early 70s.

I have a few like that ,, they came from a proof set that was super glued back together .

I think the fumes from the glue did it .

I did not do the gluing but the person I got the set from admitted to having cracked the seal and regluing it .

1970 proof set that I found at a yard sale for 2.00 a few years ago ,,I think I still have the coins somewhere in the mess I call my office .

Nice Dime!

My 1971S~1974S silver Eisenhower dollar proofs all have a blueish "more white than blue" fog on them. They were like that when I got them. The 1973S was the only "brown" Ike I actually bought still in the OGP. It was probably the easiest proof case I ever opened! Not sure how well any of these were stored before I got them.

I think the toning on my clad Ike proofs have more blue to them, but nothing as nice as that dime!
Rest in Peace

I like the dime. Maybe the fog will come back when the right light is on it?

Are you sure it is not the holder that is fogged?

Positive the holder isn't giving the fog or giving it the color.
