This is probably one one my 'better' coins. A sestertius of Marcus Aurelius showing Felicitas with Caduceus and Scepter on the reverse.

Antoninus II. Marcus Aurelius, 161-180.
Æ-Sestertius, 179, Rom; 22.25 g. Bust r. //Felicitas standing l. with Caduceus and Scepter. BMC 1695; Coh. 186; RIC 1239.

I admire M. Aurelius for his accomplishments, and acquiring this coin was a fitting way to show this. The detail on the portrait is quite good. The reverse is unfortunately weakly struck so that the head of Felicitas is only weakly impressed.

I think this is an attractive coin... I have been looking to buy a decent sestertius for a while yet reject the majority for being in bad shape. Not many have a portrait as good as yours, or such a pleasing patina and though I see what you mean about Felicitas I have certainly seen her in worse shape.

I'd say that you have a nice example there, and if you feel a particular bond with M Aurelius then that makes the coin even more special.

Masterful die engraving on the obverse. That's an outstanding portrait. Lovely, impressive coin. Congrats.

A bit weak in parts, but a very desirable coin nevertheless!
As near to uncirculated as I have seen for a large sestertius.

Beautiful obverse details, you can still even see the flow line from the strike.
