I was looking through my 10 rolls of 2015-D North Carolina quarters and found this. The area I'm looking at is the upper right tip of "exposed" bricks on the tunnel. Since I'm a super newbie I wasn't sure if it was a double die or MD or something else?
I wish I had better pictures, but this is the best I could do.

First is the quarter in question.

Second is a normal one for comparison.

Thanks in advance for helping me out.

Is it flat/step like looking? If so it is machine damage to the corner of those devices.

Yes, as best I can tell it is like a step. So what would it be called and what caused it?

Looks like Strike Doubling (MD) as best as I can tell (your images could be better pointed out by arrows).

So it's likely MD. I figured that would be most likely.

Since MD has the whole die move/bounce shouldn't there be doubling on the whole design? Obviously doubling is only visible in certain places on the design, but so far I only see it on the one area. I'll have to take a better look for doubling in other areas.

Note how the machine damage reduces the size of the devices:

Hub doubling makes the devices enlarged on the coins because the die is doubled. Thus the term doubled die.

A machine damaged coin is usually a normal die with slight die movement during the strike. Sometimes called a bounce. So they are not a doubled die, as the die is usually not doubled. (But sometimes a doubled die can show the machine damage on them)
