Hi Everyone, Recent purchase here - coin was s bought from a reputable German auction house. No too much info was given with the coin, however, it does look to be Price 3336; SNG Berry 326 which would make it a scarce item. The coin weighs in at 16.69g and is 26mm. I don't have access to SNG Berry to check the die match so I was wondering what everyone thought of this coin - real or fake?

Looks A-Ok to me. However, Id still check FORVM for a fake die match.

Here is the only picture of Price 3336 / SNG Berry 326 I can find at the moment. Here is your coin for ease of scrolling. The coin I posted sold for 4800 pounds in 2014. Yours looks great other than the test cut / punches. Nice pickup. Here is the write up for the coin I posted if it helps you any. Quote: Kingdom of Macedon. Alexander III 'The Great' AR Tetradrachm. Laodikeia ad Mare (?), circa 225 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus Aėtophoros seated right, holding sceptre, ALambda;EXi;ANDelta;POY to right; dolphin over TA monogram to right. Price 3336; SNG Berry 326. 16.84g, 30mm, 7h. Good Very Fine. Extremely Rare. Superb style.

if it's a fake, it's a good one. I think you've got yourself a NICE tetradrachm there ODM.

Thanks for all the replies, I saw the acsearch results and that prompted me to be a bit suspicious considering the rarity/value of Price 3336 SNG Berry 326. WHen it arrives I'll be sure to put up some close-up images of the coin. Some questions around the crack on the obv and the missing metal around zeus I think are floating in the back of my mind.

I could very well be wrong about this, but it appears to me that your coin and the first example that Buckeye put up were struck from the same obverse die.
Very impressive!

They are definitely different obverse dies.

Agreed, some differences above the ear, and the lions ear too.
