Hi all,

This is my second of 3 posts

I have bought a coin lot at an auction recently, mostly for the English coins - Among the coins was a number of ancient coins. Would be grateful for assistance in identification if possible as I want to put them on ebay to help fund the next buy :) (if they are worth anything)

Top coin is Maxentius, Rome mint. It shows Roma within a temple. The legend is CONSERV VRB SVAE (Defender of the city, literally Conservator of his city). This period is quite interesting and practically all those vying to be emperor issued this type.

Next is Theodosius, REPARATIO REIPVB (the republic restored, see the other thread).

Last is a nice Claudius. It reads EX S C OB CIVES SERVATOS within an oak wreath. It supposedly means 'by a decree of the senate for saving the lives of citizens'. I'm not sure what OB is supposed to stand for, but I'm not happy with the translation given. Ill try and think out the OB.
