Whats valuable about a 1971S, any varieties? I have only ever got a 1960 Large and Small Date from Jim which is greatttt... :DD

I found a brown 71-S EF in a box last night, also found a brown 73-S F in that same box...If you want to trade CBall, the 71S is yours...

Its not so much a matter of valuable ,,its more like availability,, in some areas the S mint coins are pretty scarce and hard to find in change .

while as has been noted in other areas they are fairly common .

Tell you what, the Memorial cents are almost completely ignored in coin collecting. In the past couple of months, I have a new found appreciation for them. Yea, there were millions and billions of them made. However, most of them have simple vanished, in the trash, tossed into fountains, generally abused. Finding quality pieces is more difficult than you might think. At the last coin show I was actively seeking upgrades for some of my lesser examples. Guess how many I found to buy the show? ZERO! The few coins there were there were junk, and that amounted to about 20-30 coins at the whole show!

I live in NC and I keep every "S" mint cent I find.

I went through 25 rolls today.I did find a 68S and 71S .Also 3 wheats 1935,48 and 56D but none I needed.
