Poll Question
I was reading the "How did you start" post and thought a poll would be in order!

I said between 10 and 20 years, but that is non-consecutive. There is a gap in there of about 20-25 years when life got in the way.

Whenever I start to feel old, I go to a coin show or auction :)

I'm going on seriously collecting for a few years now, but was putting wheaties aside for ten years prior. Always saved old stuff only the last few years I have been putting them in flips. Since then I have a nice collection growing.... And not just sitting in a jar.

I put 1-5, but that's my second time around. I collected when I was younger and then quit for 15 years before I came back to it.

I've been pulling old/interesting coins out of my change since 1967 but didn't buy my first coin until 1990.

I said 5-10 years, but only seriously for the past few. Before that I was too young to know what was good and what wasn't.

I "collected" any unusual coins as I found (or my father gave me) as a kid, but got serious about 12 years ago. When I say "serious" I mean spending enough on a single example that people's mouths hang open when they say "what coin in this book cost the most?"

Possibly should have had the years more like 0 - 5, 6 - 10, 11 - 20, 21 - 40, 41 - 60, 61 - 100, 101 - 150, etc.

I was born in 1966, and have been collecting off and on since my parents started giving me Ikes in 1972 for chores!
So guess what I NOW give my own 11 year old for doing chores, etc? Even more Ikes, though she sometimes prefers Sacs and NAs.
