biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 08/31/2015 5:58 pm It is zinc rot, caused by split plating, and you can see a few other affected spots on the obverse as well. Split plating and plating blisters are quite common on 1980s Zincolns, it can be difficult to find nice examples without any blistering. Report this Post to the Staff
