Waiting for the Year of the Monkey 1/2 Ounce coin, hope
that design is good, the last two were nice, Horse,
Ram/Goat. Also interested in the old effigy Flanders 1/4
ounce coin, another I would like to see.

Thanks for the update Shopaholic.

Nice looking coin. Much better than most of the other monkey coins, imo.

Mintage is lower by 7,000, there were 22,888 minted for 2015 Year of the Sheep.
Cost is higher, maybe for preorder. $39.88 last year
Agree, nice design. Thanks for sharing Looney4numi.

for the 1/2 oz lunar coin, which one is the first? I think the dragon was the first 1/2oz lunar coin right?

The Dragon was first.
Distributed in "traditional-Chinese" style like envelope, not the clam-shell.
Rest in Peace

The Majestic Maple Leaf with Drusy Stone coin looks awesome! Ordered one of those! Low mintage of 4,000.

In my humble opinion, the only low mintage is if you can buy all 3999 of 4000 units. everything is just overpriced and almost surely available cheaper later. The angel coin will be another glass candy cane

No advance notice for me yet. Clearly I need a new rep.

Seriously though, since getting a new rep this summer (my old one left the Mint), I seem to be getting information late, orders seems to take days to get confirmation and I have yet to receive either of the coins I ordered. Suffice it to say that I'm not impressed with the new guy.

Has anyone ever successfully requested a new rep?
Rest in Peace

RE: Reps...
I've had the same one since the start, and have been quite happy with the service. Ask for Chris.

thanks Dcadon. I'll try that.

So the hard copy catalogue was in the mail box today. Whole lot of the same old same old in there.

The snowy owl actually looks nice to me but what is up with those goalie coins?! Old, tired designs (see coins and medallions of the past) and a small splash of colour on the NHL team logos....$75 bucks each. They are only 1/2oz. Ridiculous.

I can't image anyone ordering that set at issue unless they are doing so to get the box (shipped with 1st coin) and then cancelling. Very disappointing.

The Venetian glass angel has to be a joke. Can imagine the snickering in the boardroom at the Mint the day that design was pitched. "Sure give it a go - they'll buy anything we make".

On the goalies - I agree - not too impressive - and what is this series commemorating - hall of famers - original 6 ?
Venetian glass too very ordinary -
I do like the Edmund - famous more so because of Lightfoot's great song...

i have to agree... it seems like the service you get from the reps is not as good as they should be... unless you call them to bug them. which I did last night because I still hadn't received anything yet either. withing seconds I had the advance notice e-mail and my order was submitted.... I think they are just simply overwhelmed with e-mails and can't keep up.... too many people assigned to a single rep maybe? I don't know...

when I called, he did told me to hurry if I wanted the lost ship, bliss of autumn, or the goalie coins... he said they would go fast...

i am definitely not a fan of the goalie coins, but I do like the box... it is worth 75$ though? I don't think so!

the autumn bliss... I get it, but not a fan either... so I think i'll pass...

the only one I am considering getting is the lost ship... and only because it is the last one... but I'm very much on the fence with that...

I LOVE the look of those gold coins though! too bad gold is so darn expensive... especially at the RCM! they could cut their price in half and still be above spot... that's just way too much for me... rather wait for secondary market for that...
