Besides the winter/x-mas/hockey themes, there will some nice (for me) little surprise. Though, some won't like it as it will suck more money out of their pockets.

Sounds nice, thank you for update, MTS! One month after current Perth Mint release, I believe, people will have some spare money to spend on RCM coin.

And even the collectors of Royalty will pay for this monthly.... Pay attention, as it described, it not RCMs set. One coin for sure, might be some others....it written " Royal Mint", so I believe it will contain coins from RM, RAM , RCMAdded:"First coin only for CAD 64"Of cause for 64 - this is the coin issue price. Funny marketing.

Okay, so make me dig out RCM's monthly catalogue from my trash can...... You're probably right, even though the 24 coin set can be subscribed through RCM. However since the 1st coin "Yesteryear's Princess" features the Queen reviewing the guard of honour aboard HMCS in Halifax, it leads one to expect the coins will all be somewhat Canadian themed. Adding: Uh huh...."produced in conjunction with 11 Commonwealth countries". http://www.mint.ca/store/coins/fine....VejUE8ROKrVSays mintage is 15,000, not 10,000, not that it matters to me.

The RCM will be issuing a 24 coin set case for Platinum Plus members by the years end for free.

I'm thinking thanks all go to Queen Eliz II for exceeding the rein of Queen Victoria, the inspiration of this gift, empty of course.

So it could be same box....and the Canadian coin is $5 face value, looks like not a full oz, but Crown sized, eg Silver Dollar. Well, if it the case, the SD collectors will be happy with this box.

On the Shopping Channel yesterday, Steven Bromberg mentioned that there is a set coming in October that will be "similar" to the Big Coins and he expected it to sell out in minutes at the Mint. He indicated a similar 1500 mintage but that he would be back on the TSC Oct 9th with the set at issue price even If it sells out at the RCM. His hyperbole aside, what might this be? Could it be a 1oz version of the circulation coin set?

Yes, CC I heard that too. I have no idea what it might be. I will certainly tune in to find out.

With 1500 mintage I doubt its a 1oz coin. He probably commissioned it so he will have a boat load to sell at issue and still make money. Im also interested to see what it is, but that's about it just interested to see it :)

Hopefully it's not too expensive. I am doubtful that it's a 1oz coin as well with that low mintage

Could be a 10 oz. version or something odd like 7.5 oz.

1500 coins mintage - most likely 5ozers, and all RCM 5oz coins priced 550, so set will not be inexpensive... And as we saw - not all of "Big Coins" are sold out.... If he said "similar to Big Coins" - I can guess, that it could be "commemoratve/circulation" SDs 6-coins set (similar as "vintage set", but all the SDs will be 5oz NCLT)

Silveroid - your guesswork might just be bang on... A 5 oz vintage silver dollar would fit the bill for another 6 big coin series...why not eh? The voyageur would, could, should be the lead off coin...followed by 1939,1949,1964,1967 commemorative versions - that would be five...What may be the sixth? Thinking... It would be a hit...pricey yes...but enough out there with deep pockets... Initial Big coin series was much desired and most dealers sold out...the SD will do well too.

If the set is a "big coin" set featuring Canada's circulating silver dollars, the sixth coin would be the 1958 SD commemorating British Columbia.
