I have been going through quarters I looked at years ago thinking many had doubled dies only to be MD. This one though looks like Washington had a bad wig day. Pretty sure it's struck through some debris. There is quite a bit of orange peel look around the bust and LIBERTY to some extent and IGWT more so affected also. Strike through?

I am leaning towards not a struck through but a VLDS.

Thanks John and Uruman.

I started wondering the same thing after thinking about it for awhile. I also discovered another 2000 Virginia SQ with the wig missing some detail but no orange peel like this one. An earlier die stage likely.

I question if it's even a VLDS...appears to be highly polished.

To me, the weak detail looks like Struck Through Grease, and the doubled detail looks like MD.
