Looks like a few cheek hits, but overall decent shape. Does anyone think it makes EF40? I needed this one for the album. More than I wanted to pay, but lower grades in this date go for almost as much

I think there is easily sufficient detail in the hair and leaves to make an EF.

A little baggy but the color looks good.

Looks like there could be some rim damage.

I saw that, OL, but it appears to be consistent with rim defects known to the series. I have several other Large Cents with similar rim issues, mostly Braided Hairs such as this one.

I'm not sure about this one for the price. Hopefully it looks worthy of your album when you get it in hand.

Not cleaned IMO, but the surfaces are pretty rough, with a few rim dings. I would say high VF details on this piece.

I think it's a fence sitter. I don't see anything that would detail it. The reverse looks closer to 40 IMO. Obverse looks 30-35. Nice coin. VF-38.5.

It is a nice VF35 overall, but does not quite make EF40 in my opinion.

Not quite enough meat on the bone for a 40, at least to an EACer for sure.
