I have a different piece of Austrian wooden Notgeld.

I think they were made in wood as low-value emergency money, because at the time the people were able to work with wood but did not have the facilities to work with metal.

I have some notgeld made from silk and some others made from porcelain. I have heard of notgeld cins made from compressed coal dust with some kind of binder. I keep looking for one of these but have no luck yet.

There are some very interesting pieces made from glazed cardboard

The whole point of the Notgeld issues was that they needed to be issued from cheap materials, hence 'Emergency Money'
Rest in Peace
