I purchased a lot of Scottish coins recently and have never come across them before. I am posting a pic of one. Would be grateful if someone could give me some more info and if these coins hold any value.

Weight: 8.1g Diameter: 26mm

You lucky beggar ! I rarely see Scottish coins for sale and I live in Scotland.

Bawbee - retail value about £75.

I agree with Pertinax; I have two bawbees, but in nowhere as good a condition as this one.
Mine are obviously identifiable, but that is about as far as they go.
I have yet to sight an example in VF or better.

I saw one in BU condition about 30 years ago at £120, which I thought was extortionate; now I think it was very cheap !

This is a pretty sweet coin. Since your post, I've taken to further research this lineage of coinage. Thanks for posting & best wishes on your sale.
