I have a pair of binoculars on Craigslist with a tripod. I actually won the binoculars at a coin auction. I put the thing up on craigslist today and here is a message I just got below.
What do you make of this?
"Thanks for responding, I'm ok with the price. I would like you to remove the advert from the list cos I want to make the purchase asap and I dont mind adding extra $50 to delete the ads from the list.. Please let me know if a certified check is ok.? After the payment clears, my shipper will come and pick it up at your location. I would have loved to come and take a look but I can't. My shipper will though. If you can get back to me with your details I'll get the check out asap. Need your full name and address, and your telephone number.."
Thanks & God bless

This is NOT the 1st time I seen the same exact message... About 4 years ago I went to List some Equipment on craigslist & had to remove the listing as I received so many *Adult Content* emails it drove me crazy... The only positive thing was I had set up a new email address just for Internet posts, and after receiving all the unwanted mail, I deleted the email account... LESSONS----LEARNED

100% scam. The certified check you receive will eventually bounce and be charged back to your account.

Scam. I got similar messages for things on Craigstlist. I have been CLing for about 2 years and if I remember correctly, one guy wanted my paypal account information, a second guy wanted my PO box number to drop a check, and a third person wanted to give me a check (plus $50) for a $10 Play Station One I was trying to sell at the time. A check for 10 dollars...really?
Be careful out there; some tricks are obvious, some are not.

Just think off the cuff... What if you turn it around and send them a invoice for Consultation fees of $500.00 for wasting your time & ready to pursue Legal Action if not paid in 30 days... Use a fake address... I live in NY and have a Florida phone number..

Every second spent pursuing a response to a scammer is a wasted second you will never get back. Delete the emails and move on.
