I found a jar of pennies hidden away in the house. It must have been filled in 1988, since there are no dates more recent. I have been finding a few interesting pennies, but nothing totally astounding. This Woody is, I think, a
1968D-1MM-009. Some of the markers are not visible, and the markers indicated are a bit worn.

Nice find, Pete. Great photos, too. It's clever how you did that overlay.

Nothing like finding money you forgot you had and then discovering at least one LMC variety to boot.

I don't think that is the same die number. While the location is close, the spread on the RPM is much wider and a larger split on the upper serif.

I applaud that you are using the overlay, but in this case it is not the same die number. I would like to see a close up of your mint mark? Not sure what is going on there.

Here is another attempt. For some reason, my cheap little microscope is supposed to Zoom to 200x, but I cannot get it to do it!

I am thinking this may not be the 009, I am noticing that the 8 seems to be lopsided, too.

It might be a very minor split or a contact mark. I would keep it for now.
