I have a 1928 A One dollar silver certificate "Funny Back"
Sec of Treasury is Mellon
Condition fair.
I do not have resouces to look up value or information on this banknote.
Can any of you tell me anything about this note?

All I have for currency is the 2005 Blackbook. According to that, it's worth $10 in Good with an average buying price of $5.

At least you didn't call me surely. Susan already posted a value, and my sources put it in the same range. $5 - $20 ranging from good through Fine.

Condition is rough some one once brought it tome because they though it was fake- Wanted the person who gave it to them arrested.
I offered to take it and gave them a circulation banknote out of my pocket.
Have now had the note over twenty years.

I have been spending quite a bit of time trying to learn more about currency. Lots of little things make the up the largest difference in values. Luckily, I have a few good currency dealers to learn from.

Sounds like you have a good find on your hands.
Rest in Peace
