Since some clown saw fit to remove my last posting because I attached a link to an official press release by the US Mint informing everyone that they have extended the 50 State Quarters program for 2009 with six new quarters honoring Washington DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, Northern Marianas, US Virgin Islands and American Samoa SIMPLY because I am a new member to this board I have decided rather than commit the horrific act of attaching a link to my posting (despite the fact that it was an accurate and informative link) I will copy the body of the official US Mint press release and attach it here. I apologize to the board members (all but one) for committing the horrific sin of being a new member and attaching a link to my posting.

The District of Columbia and United States Territories Quarter Program

In 2009, the United States Mint will mint and issue six quarter-dollar coins in honor of the District of Columbia and the five United States Territories: the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the United States Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. These coins will be issued in equal sequential intervals in 2009 in the order listed.

The image of George Washington as seen on the obverse of the 50 State Quarters® coins will remain unchanged. The reverse of each quarter will be distinctly different with images emblematic of the District of Columbia and each of the United States Territories.

Public Law requires the Secretary of the Treasury to approve each reverse design after consulting with the Chief Executive of the District of Columbia or the territory being honored and the Commission of Fine Arts, and after review by the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee. The Design Evaluation and Selection Process provides details on the steps the Secretary and the United States Mint will take to develop and approve the reverse designs in this 2009 series.

These coins will be issued for circulation in quantities to meet the needs of the United States—both for commerce and for collectors. In addition, the Secretary has the authority to mint and issue uncirculated and proof coins, as well as a 90 percent silver version of each coin. These numismatic versions will be included in the United States Mint's annual product offerings.

This member is no longer with us.

Your post sir was not deleted for the link. It was deleted because you made the exact same post in 2 different forums. Here is the one I left, which has several replies. The exact duplicate that had no business being in "Important CC Family Topics" was removed.

Normally I can overlook being called a clown. No biggie, but you should see the email this person sent me...

You are a ing . So what if I am a new poster on your board? The information I have was of great relevance to U.S. coin collectors especially those who have enjoyed the 50 State Quarters program over the past 10 years. My information was cutting edge and deserved to be left up despite the fact that I was a new member and posted an external link. The link was a direct connection to the US Mint press release on the subject. Many collectors of this 50 State Quarters program were thrilled to find out about this news as I posted it on several other coin related sights and received 172 responses on one and 42 personal emails thanking me for providing this breaking information...information that nobody on your site felt was important enough to post including a self important like yourself who felt the need to censor a VERY informative topic because why? Because I am new to the board? What an absolute head you are. You had to remove a a perfectly relevant topic as informative as this one and could not overlook "the stupid rules" and give me a pass or a warning based on the informative nature of the posting and my sincere kind hearted efforts to inform my fellow collectors of this great news? You should be ashamed of yourself. I hope this makes you feel good inside you moron. Now I am sure you escalate this incident and ban me from the board despite the fact that I never posted anything bad and simply voiced my opinion of what I think of you and if you ban me your an even bigger vindictive then I had you figured for.

You see what I have to deal with? So you want your own forum huh?

He joins and doesn't read the rules that he just agreed to, then he's reprimanded and urged to read them, then doesn't read them again.

Then he turns around and post the same topic again. For the third time.

Oh... my reply...

That's not why it was deleted. It was deleted because you posted the exact same
topic twice which is not needed. I left the one that was posted in the proper forum,
it has been getting replies since you posted it...

This all could have been avoided in the first place if you had taken the time to read
the "stupid" rules... even the second time. This is my house.

Have a nice day,

Bobby

Breaking news? The legislation authorizing them was passed almost a month ago and signed into law three weeks ago. It has been discussed on the various forums ever since. I haven't looked, but I would bet that if he had searched here he would have found old threads talking about his "breaking news" The only thing "new" about it was that the Mint had finally gotten around to posting it as well.

He didn't seem to have any good sense either. Theres nothing wrong with posting old news as new if you don't know it has already been posted, and posting in multilpe forums could also be forgiven. But you have to be pretty slow to think you can cuss out a forum moderator for enforcing the rules and not get cut off at the knees. Good work Bobby.

"US Mint extends 50 State Quarters program for 2009"

Inaccurate too. The mint didn't do anything, Congress did. Plus it is NOT an extention of the State Quarter program that ends with the coins of 2008.
