Hi I've just purchased some coins and this is one of them. I have spent the past 4 hours searching for it and had no luck. I have tried fake coins, tokens, medals, medallions, challenge coins and I'm now stuck. The rat looks similar to the 1996 Singapore bullion design and I found a picture in google images of a bronze token with a rat nearly the same but when I tried to get information on it I couldn't. I'm thinking it was either copied from there or drawn by the same artist. Any help would be much appreciated. The first two photos are my coin and the last is the similar image I found.

Agreed-- Year of the Rat, probably 2008 or 1996.

You will probably get no closer than that--these coins are mass produced in such numbers and in so many designs that nobody bothers to actually catalogue them. Essentially a piece of gift shop junk, worth a couple bucks.

It is a medal commemorating the Year of the Rat, 1984, Beijing, China.

Another example can be seen here.
