Hey guys, just popped in to the forum to see if anyone could give me a hand identifying this coin. No idea what it is but some of the markings look Arabic. Thanks :)

It looks like 5 Para of the Ottoman Empire. Need an obverse picture to be sure. I think the date is 1227.The character in the center is a "5".

I posted the picture for a friend so I don't have the coin to post a picture of the other side but it's quite beaten up on the other side. Would it be of any value?

Probably not much. Collectors in general are more interested in undamaged coins and pay more for them. Your coin is old (dated AH 1227 = 1812), but age doesn't always mean value.
