So my daugher had some issues with her debit card on the Ike order, the whole double charge thing. We thought it would be so much easier this time around if we used gift certificates. Nope. Her order went in before mine. Mine shipped right away. her's went into ON HOLD status that was just lifted today and will not ship until Monday. A mint rep said it was on hold for approval. What approval? These were gift certificates that were bought and paid for weeks ago. She did tell us that because they were ordered before the item went on backorder, hers are reserved. Somehow I still think we won't be seeing them any time soon. Her order was USM035374XX which should have been plenty early.

Wow, if not for bad luck you would have no luck at all.

I hope the rep was right and you will get them soon.

That's a great idea. Fullfillment services are an open bid type of thing, right? I wonder who owns the system, the mint or the fullfillment provider? The one they use now won't even let orders be modified. I had one order that was made just after a move and they couldn't even change the shipping address 2 days before it was actually shipped.

Oooooh.

Mint Gift Certificates.

I see a new way for the unscrupulous big buyers to skirt the household limits.

Buy $5K in mint gift certificates, get the name and address of 40 of your friends, set up ghost accounts on the mint website, enter certificate numbers ahead of time as preferred payment method, and then go to town once the sale opens. Of course you would have to call your friends (or in the case of the TV marketers employees houses they are having them sent to) and tell them to be on a lookout for a package intended for you.
