I always see this guy pop up in my searches. He has tons of bad reviews and it appears he sells cleaned coins without letting the buyer know. I had contacted him once about some mint sets and he got mad about me asking for combined shipping and wrote me back a novel about he's the best seller and that "I'd be back to purchase from him."

You'd think ebay would boot someone this bad.

When items get sold on ebay.... ebay makes money! There are some people who will always complain and both parties know this so they don't bother paying it much attention unless it's a serious complaint.

If you don't like something... send it back... otherwise the two enterprises will continue to be interested in turning a profit...

As for why this store is still in operation.. some people LOVE the thought that they're getting something of great value not knowing they're actually getting damaged goods I suppose.... in turn they're willing to overlook a lot of problems if they're convinced they'll turn a profit themselves.
Rest in Peace

I excluded this seller from my saved searches years ago, but...If someone can't tell a coin is cleaned from his photos they shouldn't be buying coins.

Yeah I just think ebay should step in. A new coin collector could easily get scammed by this guy. It's one thing if a seller doesn't know a coin is cleaned and sells it but this guy obviously knows and isn't disclosing it. Can you report to ebay that a coin is cleaned but not disclosed? I'll have to look into excluding him from my searches, I didn't know you could do that.

So, do we get rid of all sellers with 99.8% or lower positive feedback?

How do you know that he knows it's cleaned? That's a big assumption. Sorry, but I believe it's the buyers responsibility to learn. Lord knows I've bought blindly in the past and found out later that oops, I should have been a lot smarter. I can't blame anyone but myself in that situation.

You have the ability to ask the seller questions, if he answers by lying then hold him/her to the fire. If he/she doesn't answer at all, same thing... If he/she states he/she doesn't know, tread carefully.

It's way to easy to make statements like this. I hold to the all to famous phrase, caveat emptor..... Let the buyer beware.
