Hello everyone

I just won this Barber dime a few hours ago ..
I got a really great price on the coin , it's a crusty looking girl..
There seems to be a little something going on with the cheek area ..
I thought the coin looked to be AU or at least XF , so what do you guys think as far as grade and problem free or details grade?

Looks XF to me, unless their is some hidden luster. I am more curious on what is going on with one dime on the back. The D kinda looks like a hit, but th N looks like some possible doubling. It could just all be machine doubled a bit though, because the M looks a bit doubled in a different direction.
Rest in Peace

I'll say AU 50. YOu could probably get it conserved through ANACS. They say they won't do anything to it if they think it will not help the coin.

I will post some better photos once I get the coin in hand , since you mentioned it some of the letters on the reverse look a bit strange .. I've never heard of a DDR Barber dime , so is that even a possibility ?
I hope there is some luster that just isn't coming threw in the photo , if not then I'd agree with you guys on EF 45 .. If the surfaces are original then I will be happy , as crusty as it is I believe they are ..

depending on the luster and how she conserves, if attempted, it's AU50 to AU55. the higher end being the best outcome with luster. As IHE pointed out, the reliefs are all higher AU but the mirrors and luster seem to be what the TPGs utilize to determine where on the scale it falls into a slab.

Its a great pick up. what was the price point?

Devices appear to be strong enough for AU so I'll go with 50

Thanks guys
Believe it or not I pretty much stole this coin , payed around 6 bucks plus a couple bucks shipping so that put me at 8 and some change ..
I don't know why , but it seemed there was no interest in the coin from other bidders !!
I set my max bid at 20 and was shocked when it didn't pass 10 bucks ...
I suppose it was just luck , yet unfortunate for the seller .. I kind of felt bad I got it so cheap ..
Once I get it in hand I will post some better photos !!
