I don't know where this question would even begin to fit in or who to ask about this, but I have a 1942 War savings bond. How would a person go about finding the individuals printed on the front or by now their next of kin to give this to? I know that if this was my grandfather's name on this, I would want it. I figured someone would steer me in the right direction.
Thanks!

Doing some research on the name on war bond and may have ties to a boxing champ--I'm still searching without having to pay an arm and leg thru search links and ancestry. But that is what I have found so far-very exciting! Just goes to show that good deeds are Good.

Karma is good too!

Might you part with the name? I hope its not a commom last name, this might find it very difficult to find the owner.

Good luck on finding the owner, its a very nice thought gussyboy1

My hubby is into watching the boxing--I thought it interesting and it sparked his interest to find out that this 1942 war bond might be B. Viloria's (lightweight boxer) grandfather or great grandfather. Yes, I have tried googling it and then checking out ancestry sites, but they want $ even for a "FREE 14 day trial". I have a cousin in Utah who is doing some checking for me--she will have much better luck. I also checked a few cemetery rosters on line.
Thanks!
