This is my first time CRH and I got a roll of halves with a conspicuous mark on the end. Thought maybe it was someone here that marked the roll to either see if they get it back or where it ends up. So maybe posting pics and details will help others know where their rolls ended up.

I picked up this roll 9/25/15 at BofA in Hillsborough NJ

That coin may have been marked but not necessarily the roll itself.

Wow, Hillsborough is actually not too far from where I live, but I'm not with BofA so it shouldn't be an issue if we're both roll searching at the same time. And it's possible there's another collector altogether, because I once opened a roll of halves and one had a mark across the center.

Well CC110 if you're interested in halves the teller said she had about 20 rolls left in the vault.

I'm wondering if anyone marks the actual roll, on the paper. I go to my credit union and all the ladies love to get rid of their halves, but the rolls always have a big OK on them. I'm not sure if the bank does this so they know the weight is correct or if a hunter marks it so they know not to search again.

I've only searched 20 or so rolls, I get a few here and there where I can afford it, and I've been skunked on silver so far. Makes me wonder if the bank searches them and the tellers keep the good stuff.

Yes the managers and tellers get first dibs on the good stuff. They even order boxes to search. Policy varies from bank to bank. At some banks, employees are never allowed to keep any collectible coin they come across. As far as marking goes, sure coin wrappers come with all sorts of markings, just like some individual coins. In almost 40 years of roll hunting, I've seen groups of spray painted, burned and graffiti'd coins, all someone's attempt to see if they get their own dumps back, and how soon.
