Seller cleaned it him/her self, which is almost scary. Thank god it's not an authentic 1877.

Bad pics? Yes. But it's still easy to ID it's a fake.

Obvious fake. Guy probably cleans everything he sells.
Thank gosh it wasn't a genuine one. Value would have been destroyed.

It is so odd that so many people still think cleaning old stuff makes it prettier and more expensive.

That because cleaning/restoring something generally does make it prettier and more valuable (cars, furniture, clothes, paintings), but originality is always favored and valued slightly higher.

Coins, paper money, stamps (?), and guns are exceptions.
