I along with the rest of the moderators wish to apology to Topcat and the rest of the members of this forum for the inappropriate action that was taken to Topcat and the offense it cause him and the rest of you.
This was done by a moderator who for whatever reason they had was uncalled for and not in keeping with the idea of this being a family forum. That moderator has been removed and is no longer a Staff member of CCF.
Please except our apology, we are a family here and I hope we will continue to be one.
Ron

I must say thank you. As a refugee from some other coin forums where behavior like this took place I appreciate that this was dealt with in a civil manner, and actions taken to make sure it didn't happen again. As someone commented in the deleted thread, it isn't a democracy here but a benevolent dictatorship. It may well be but we all have the option of not patronizing the dictatorship. I am glad that the actions will allow me to continue to patronize the board, as I think it is a great community. I also understand that this is a labor of love for all involved.

This is the type of class I have always admired about CCF.

Good stuff, I hope the apology is well received and we don't lose anybody. Also let me point out that any previous criticisms I made were not directed at Ron who I have always felt was a credit to this forum.

Thank-you, Ron. Bob L got it in one! You understand. I regret to advise that I shall not be "patronizing the dictatorship" (see Allranger's comments) any further. I wish all of those who have supported me, during my time here, the best.

I wish you would reconsider Topcat. I certainaly don't post as often as other people, and am nowhere near as experienced, but I have been around long enough to have read your posts. Plus with all the modern junk being produced the Ancients coin forum needs to keep its members. As Ron has pointed out: "That moderator has been removed and is no longer a Staff member of CCF." Not quite dying in your sleep, but about the best you can hope for in this situation. (Reference to an old Mel Gibson movie lest anyone think it means anything else ).

There was no need for you guys to apologize.. if I'd realized I'd crossed the line and how it would be taken by the membership, I'd have done the apologizing myself.
So I'll do that now - I'm sorry for the upset I caused this morning. There is a fine line you have to walk as a moderator between knowing your people and knowing how to enforce the rules of the board, and my little "joke" reflected knowledge of neither.
I'm sorry to have caused the drama this time instead of helping to eliminate it; please do not let my actions reflect poorly on the other moderators, as they are wonderful individuals and I'm sorry to have caused all this trouble for them.
To Topcat specifically: This was entirely my fault, not theirs. I apologize directly to you for the inappropriate joke I played this morning with your avatar.

Of course it is your personal choice TC but since the person that is responsible for the affront is gone, and those that appreciate you are still here I don't think there is any need to leave out of pride. As much as you would be losing a resource of being able to ask for opinions and information we too would be losing someone who makes interesting and intelligent posts. Hopefully you can leave it a few days before making a final decision and decide to give it a second chance.

TC, you have been a valuable member to this forum and I consider you also as a friend. This should have never happened and the person that was responsible has realized their mistake and has apologized. I wish that you would reconsider and stay. I would miss your input if you left.

Lesson to be learned here is the little smiles next to the text box go a long ways to "express" the intent behind words posted.

I can't say I don't understand your decision Topcat, but you should know that there are quite a few people here who will miss you. And you probably didn't see the thread from earlier that got deleted, but we were all fighting for you, we care about our members here, and will defend them. We would be sad to see you go.
