1942-D Doubled Die Obverse / DDO Obverse Quarter (But Not The One Shown In PCGS)?

tuberale New Member United States 8 Posts	Posted 09/29/2015 03:21 am I have a DDO obvere 1942D quarter, but the doubling is not as shown in PCGS. I have not seen discussion of other varieties of '42D DDO quarters. ? My DDO is doubled in the motto: the first T in TRUST begins under the I of IN. The top of the T is clearly visible, the bottom is not. This is not like a halo image, but nearly a separate T. The font of this T looks different than in the motto. There is something (I can't figure out what) above the motto, like this coin has been struck before, then rotated to obscure the strike. The coin exhibits toning, which might make the doubling more difficult to see. Please comment. Report this Post to the Staff
