It was marketed as a strike-through error. It does look like the imperfection is impressed in the metal, so that makes sense to me...but I'm no expert. I know there are some experts on here, so I'd like to know what they have to say.
Also...do you all think I should send it in for encapsulation/grading?

Looks like a lamination to me also. I feel it would not be worth of grading and slabbing.

Looks like a large lamination, cool find but in that condition not worth slabbing

Just so I can learn...what makes you guys say lamination versus strike through? I've read definitions and all, but I'd like to hear what you key on when looking at either to decide which is which. Thanks! You guys are great!

A struck through obliterates the design during the strike through.

A lamination will show the ghost image when the layer peels off. That is what I'm seeing on your coin. Thus it is a lamination.
