I'm collecting the 1981 proof sets type 1 and Type 2 graded by PCGS. The few I currently have are all PR69DC. I really want to hurry and complete the setand I can but they are graded a little lower. I really want to hold out till I can find the PR69DC in the whole set. But really want to finish out the set at the same time. Ahhh the delima here

2 options

1. be patient and get every piece one at a time
2. get whatever you can to complete the set and slowly upgrade to the 69DC until it is truly complete.

Well I do have the other option. Buy a membership and submit the 3 proof sets I have and hope for the PR69DC Grade

This would never be my choice !

For what you spend on a membership and the grading fee's on a chance at 69DC you could be two or three coins closer to complete ,,

or the option I would choose !

Learn to grade the coins ,grade your own ,buy the sets grade your own coins leave them Raw and save a bunch of money in the process !

If you want the 69, why buy anything else? You know you will get the 69 the first chance you have and then you have wasted whatever you have in the lower grades. I agree with Metalman, I would just find the coins I felt fit my set and save the money. Good luck.

Well for some reason I want the graded ones in this set. It's just one of those things. I think i'll wait and find what I can in PR69DCAM and go from there. I don't know why I want the PCSG graded set but it's one of those things
